Malbork, or Mariënburg Castle, is a large castle (and museum) in the Polish city of Malbork on the river Nogat and founded in 1274. The original name was Mariënburg after Saint Mary, the patroness of the Order. Here was the headquarters of the crusader state of the Teutonic Order. The castle is a tourist attraction and is on the UNESCO world heritage list.
