About ‘Noorderlicht Kinderdijk’ by Bob Vandenberg

An evening with northern lights at Kinderdijk - that's something you don't easily forget as a photographer. It was my third attempt and, as they say, three times is the charm. This time it was a hit!

It was magical to capture this extraordinary phenomenon, and just so close to home. The iconic windmills, shrouded in the mysterious green and purple of the aurora borealis, formed an image you normally only expect to see in faraway northern countries.

The combination of patience, hope and the perfect moment made this an experience etched in my memory. Unique, special and definitely a moment to cherish forever.

I am Bob van den Berg, born in Rotterdam and living with his family in Capelle aan den IJssel for several years now. I earn my bread and butter as a buyer at the Ministry of Defense in Utrecht. After a long period of working with video, I decided a few years ago to start with photography. I must say it is an addiction. In the evenings I followed various courses in photography at the SKVR (Beeldfabriek) in Rotterdam.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
