This is the lake of the Beusebos hiking area in Purmerend in the autumn of 2017. I was there to take pictures and decided to come back in the spring, when the forest was fresher and drier again. There had been quite a bit of rain and the paths were really wet and swampy and not nice to walk on. But in April 2018, the Beuse Forest was suddenly closed off with fences because of small arsons, to keep young people away on dirt bikes and because hidden nailboards were found. So you can't go into the beech forest anymore and I have to rely on images from autumn.
Some local parties in Purmerend want to cut down the Beuse Forest for the construction of hotels, so I wonder if the forest will ever be accessible again. In that case, there is only one forest left, the Purmerbos.
So it's a forest. One. Not even two.
