The red lynx is a feline of the genus of lynxes. It occurs in North America and is known there as "bobcat". The animal's fur is yellowish to reddish brown, with a white underside. In winter the colour is greyish, as is the case in this picture which was taken in February. The animal owes its English name bobcat to the 20 to 30 centimeter short tail.
