She was flying tonight. Later this year she will be withdrawn from service. The iconic KDC-10 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force lands in beautiful evening light at Eindhoven Air Base.

The 3-engine KDC-10 is a tanker and transport aircraft based on a DC-10. The first KDC-10s entered service with the Royal Netherlands Air Force in 1995.
The KDC-10 can also refuel other aircraft, such as F-16 fighters, in the air. The refuelling takes place through a long tube at the back of the aircraft. An operator manoeuvres the tube in the right position by means of joysticks.
