Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Silence on the Wallberg’ by Marcel Hechler

On a mild May evening, I stood on Pforzheim’s Wallberg, between the tall, gently curved stainless steel steles of the memorial. Their polished surfaces capture the sky and reflect the evening light, so that the columns almost seem to glow.

I pressed the shutter just as the sun broke through between two steles. Through the wide-angle lens, the horizon curves gently, the columns reach upwards, and the long shadows stretch across the gravel towards the viewer.

The Wallberg is a quiet place — a place of remembrance that also offers a sweeping view of the region. For me, the image carries this dual tone: gravity and vastness, pause and departure.

When displayed on a wall, the motif creates a calm, almost meditative effect. It is ideal for a space where one wishes to consciously find peace — a room for reading, reflection or simply taking a deep breath.
