A fond memory of my mother, who passed away in 2007, is a Clivia, which she always treated with great love. The plant was so big that all children could take a part of it with them. After many years, all the Clivia's with siblings are defunct, while I get to enjoy our Clivia blooming again every year. The plant, once it has finished flowering, disappears to a quiet spot in the spare room to rest from the lush blooming period.
The Canon EOS 100-400 was used as the lens. The exif is: f/5.6, 1/13 sec, ISO 800 with 285 mm.
Behind the plant, I placed a black piece of cardboard so that the Clivia would stand nicely clear. In post-processing in Lightroom, I refreshed the colours slightly and made the background a little blacker.
I think it turned out to be a nice portrait of the Clivia. The Clivia also known as Saint Joseph plant.
