That green is chlorophyll and that leafgreen takes CO2 from the air and water to make sugars for the plant to survive, and separates oxygen as a residual product so we can breathe. We then separate CO2, which in turn enables the plant to make sugars again. That circular process is based entirely on light, on solar power and has existed since ancient times. Be economical and take an example.
