About ‘Surfer in Colour’ by Karin van Bylevelt

This vibrant and action-packed artwork, once again captured at Scheveningen, combines the sporty dynamics of the surf with the clean, artful lines of the pier pilings. The composition shows a surfer, small and focused, conquering a wave between two brightly coloured poles (purple and lime green). The sleek, vertical poles frame the horizontal action of the sea and the surfer, creating a fantastic contrast.

My inspiration lay in the visual synergy between human achievement and urban architecture against the backdrop of nature. The bright, sunny day creates a fresh, energetic atmosphere, while the reflections of the poles in the wet beach add another graphic layer. In the distance, we see a sailboat, adding to the sense of openness and adventure.

The atmosphere is one of freedom, sportiness and modern, cheerful energy. The work is immediately striking and exudes an active, positive attitude to life.

This image is special in modern, active interiors, such as for lovers of water sports and the coast. It is a unique, energetic eye-catcher that adds a cheerful, graphic accent to any space and has a direct link to Dutch beach life.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
