About ‘Swirl’ by Ellen Borggreve

Even though I am mostly known for my forest images, I love photographing the seaside with its ever changing conditions and textures. I love knowing that what I photograph on one particular day will be gone the next day and will not ever look completely the same again. This makes photographing on the coast a freeing experience for me. I thoroughly enjoy being by the sea, walking along the shoreline, with my camera with me as a loyal companion. This image was made with a telephoto lens which gives a painterly feel to the distant sea and clouds. I have also made an image with a wide angle lens of the same scene and I can't decide which image I love more. The time we spent on Terschelling was blustery to say the least and rainclouds were building up every day, which is exactly what I love most....the dramatic Dutch skies that are unique to this country. These clouds are like the patterns in the sand, never completely the same, always in transition to the next shape.

Ellen Borggreve is a landscape photographer and author of Woodscapes and Praxisbuch Wälder fotografieren, among others. She was born and raised in the woods of the Veluwe where her love for trees originated. Besides forests she also likes to photograph Dutch coastal scenes.

The focus is on tranquil scenes that seem to lie outside everyday reality, without people in the picture, with subjects that are about to disappear often being the subject. The fleeting patterns…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
