I have a soft spot for birches in the mist. I love photographing them in relatively calm compositions where lines play the main part. What struck me in this scene was the diagonal birch in the front row which was mirrored buy another birch in the second row. The repetition of lines makes this less haphazard and more harmonious. The sun had just risen above the horizon giving a warm glow to the mist which added to the magic of the moment
