I have literally known this path all my life, a few oak trees have fall down , but even so, it is still beautiful. I photographed it in all seasons but never was it more beautiful than the morning I made this image. Summer was making way for autumn and the undergrowth was turning orange, yet the foliage of the oak trees was still a dark dull green. It looked like a scene from an Old Dutch Masters painting or a painting from the Romantic Era. The very slight fog gave this scene an even more atmospheric look and added to the painterly feel of this image. This is exactly the way I have always perceived this path, as sheltered and from a bygone era and finally the conditions lined up to hep me create an image that did justice to my feelings about this piece of woodland
