This image was almost abstract with the pastel colored layers of sand, sea and sky, this is why I opted for a square crop. I made this image at the beach of Terschelling on a Spring morning. The sky was pale blue and apart from some very faint clouds, this scene looked so still and empty except for a few buoys in the water, which add little specks of colour. This photograph shows best what I love about spending time at the sea, it feels like a breathing space
