In the ruined landscape of Selge, where stones carry the story of centuries, two trees stand. They overlook a site where low walls and stones still snake among the greenery. Half taken over by nature.
This mystical spot, given extra strength by the rainy weather that day, is in the Taurus Mountains in southern Turkey, near the remains of an ancient amphitheatre. No crowds. Only light, air and silence.
The softened colours take the sharp edges off reality, giving the scene an almost dreamlike effect. Everything seems just a little further away. As if time moves slower here.
You look - and only then do you see it. The simplicity, the lines, the tranquillity. No spectacle. Away from the rush. Just a place where everything stops for a moment.
Those longing for peace will see them here. And find them.
I took this photo during a day excursion in Taurus Mountains. Except for the rain, it was quiet. Deafeningly quiet.
