A tree with yellowed leaves stands in the Cramwinckelplantsoen n Purmerend. Under the tree many fallen leaves on the grass. The surroundings are in thick mist. All signs that it is autumn, and nature is preparing for the approaching winter.
Yet the autumn of 2025 could be called warm. Southern winds often brought in warm air and ash temperatures often reached 15 to 17 degrees into November. Nature cannot not be fooled. The nights quickly lengthen and that is the sign for the leaves to fall, despite the heat and moisture in the air.
Precisely because it was so relatively warm for the time of year, I kept the photo just right, with lots of yellow. Because that was the situation at the time.
