This work shows two iconic Berlin landmarks: the World Time Clock on Alexanderplatz in the foreground and the television tower, which rises strikingly into the sky. The photograph is in black and white, which lends the summery cityscape a timeless, almost documentary quality. The cloud structure and the play of light on the metallic surfaces create a calm yet dynamic atmosphere.
The inspiration for this image arose from the desire to visualise the connection between time and space in an urban context. The world clock symbolises global networking, while the television tower watches over the city as a technical monument to modernity. Both elements symbolise orientation - geographically and culturally.
With this work, I want to create an atmosphere of reflection: on the passing of time, on the role of architecture in public space and on the identity of a city in transition. The reduction to black and white draws attention to form, structure and contrast - and invites us to see the familiar in a new light.
In an interior, this work of art acts as a calm but powerful accent. It combines history with the present and gives the room an urban depth without being obtrusive - ideal for modern living or working environments with a sense of design and meaning.
