Zaanse flour mill the Bleeke Dood in Zaandijk.
This corn mill has stood for years in the beautiful spot on the Zaan. An icon encapsulated between the Zaan industry. This mill on the Zaan is the oldest existing wooden stage mill in the Netherlands. It stands proudly in its place between the cocoa factories at the waterfront of the Zaan.
Clouds and sunshine make it an old Dutch scene which I can beautifully photograph. The Zaanse mills with all their functions have also had an important contribution in the development of Amsterdam. The Zaanse industry supplied the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie with wood and food for the ships.
Now the mill turns the flour on limited days and stays in motion. The miller maintains her neatly.
The Dutch clouds skies chase above the mill sometimes a shower rain sometimes a sunshine the trees adorn the mill in the photo.
Zaankanteropavontuur.
Always on adventure and looking for industrial landscapes and details. And I do a lot of street photography. Walking through the streets, old villages and city centers.
I photograph mainly with an analogue Yashica 635 and a Ricoh AF 5.
