Samuel John Peploe on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Peter Balan

Samuel John Peploe (1871–1935) was a Scottish painter and one of the leading figures of the Scottish Colourists, a group of artists strongly influenced by the French Post-Impressionists. Peploe is known for his vibrant still lifes, landscapes, and portraits, characterized by bold colors, broad brushstrokes, and skillful use of light. He often painted floral arrangements, as well as views of the Scottish coast and southern France. Peploe’s work reflects a synthesis of traditional Scottish art and modern European painting.
