About ‘A Leap from Stari Most’ by Victor van der Kaaij

At first, new recruits to Mostar's "Divers Club" are not allowed to jump from platforms higher than 6 meters. Gradually and under strict supervision, they jump from 8, 12 and 16 meters while learning proper techniques from other members.

The Club's crown jewel is the Stari Most (translated: "Old Bridge"). A 24-meter-high 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site and the main reason tourists visit the Bosnian city. The most experienced members of the Club collect money from spectators and then jump from the center of the arch.

One traveler from the group I was accompanying jumped from the Club's 12-meter training platform next to the bridge, landed wrong and broke a vertebra in his back (thankfully, he's fine now). After calling an ambulance, I spent the next two days in the hospital navigating the dysfunctional Bosnian health care system to pay his bill and get the proper documents for his insurance. Risky activity...

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
