About ‘De Slufter ( Texel )’ by Jose Lok

The Slufter is a beach plain on the Dutch West Frisian island of Texel, largely surrounded by dunes and open to the North Sea, which has created a salt marsh landscape.

De Slufter is part of the National Park Dunes of Texel. The area is owned by Staatsbosbeheer. It has a surface area of over 700 ha (land and water). There is a viewpoint and an entrance in the southeast corner. In the southern part of the area one can "stroll". 1] To the north and west lies a large resting area.

Strictly speaking, "the Slufter" is the name of the creek/creeks that flowed through the area. The "Slufter Plain" - also called the Slufter Valley or the Slufter area - is nowadays usually referred to simply as "The Slufter".

Nowadays, slufters and slufter formation are also used in other places - for example, on other Dutch Wadden Islands - to indicate beach plains constricted by the dunes, where the influence of ebb and flow is present. These terms are toponyms; they are derived from De Slufter on Texel.[2] source wikipedia

My husband ( Arie Lok ) and I are both fanatical photographers so we regularly go out together to photograph beautiful landscapes, animals, birds and actually everything that is beautiful.
He with his Nikon and I with my Canon.
We were regularly asked to do something with these photos, this made me decide to open this webshop.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
