This is an abstract painting where I wanted to contrast some vibrant shades of pink, blue and bronze against a dark background. Painted in acrylic paint using a variety of techniques, the painting is striking with clouds and waves of colour rising up through the painting. Have you heard of pareidolia? This is a tendency for someone to put a meaningful interpretation onto something that is quite abstract. In the case of abstract paintings, people can often see all sorts of shapes, figures and items that were never intended. In this image, there is actually a whale! Can you see it in the top left quadrant? This was purely by chance as I dragged the paint but the whale shape is really quite clear. I have called it 'Deep Sound'. A sound is a body of water connected to an ocean or a large sea. But whales also make the most glorious sound as they sing, so the name has a double meaning.
