About ‘Gouda’ by Bianca Hinnen

Gouda lies at the confluence of the rivers Gouwe and Hollandse IJssel. Thanks in part to the inland waterway navigation across these rivers, Gouda grew into an important city in the Middle Ages. In 1272 the city received city rights and by the end of the Middle Ages Gouda had become the fifth largest city in Holland. A large number of historic and monumental buildings can still be found in the city center, of which the Town Hall and St. John's Church are probably the most famous. The city is also known for its Gouda cheese, which is traded at the Thursday tourist cheese market in the summer. Finally, Gouda enjoys fame for the manufacture of beer, candles, pipes, Gouda china, syrup waffles and the annual Candle Night.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
