About ‘Guardians above the river’ by Marcel Bakker

Along the river lies a village where time seems to have stood still. Its stone houses and wooden balconies reflect in the calm water, while the mountains above embrace it with their majestic presence. Everything breathes tranquillity, as if this landscape has existed unhurriedly throughout the centuries.

But those who look up closely will discover the true sentinels of this valley: the towers of the Great Wall of China, standing like crowns on the mountain tops. They recall a past when this place was not only an idyllic refuge, but also a border, a bulwark against invaders. Now they are silent monuments, seemingly fused with the rocks and forests, sentinels of stone that have guarded the horizon for centuries.

Together, the river below and the wall high above form a story of balance: water flowing and walls standing firm, the soft and the hard, the temporary and the eternal. For the traveller standing here, it is as if nature and history are reaching out to each other, together forming a timeless painting.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
