A tribute to Karel Appel (1921-2006) he was a Dutch painter and sculptor in modern art from the second half of the 20th century, who can be counted among the expressionists. He developed his own style, independent of others. He broke through with his membership of the Cobra group. When he started painting, he looked at the canvas for a long time, but once he started painting, he could hardly keep up with his impulses to apply paint. He gave the impression of working like a man possessed, though taking plenty of time to mix the paint in the right colour.
