About ‘Lake Veere’ by Sander Poppe

On Lake Veere in Zeeland, I found this unique view, with the long white jetty protruding like a glimpse into the still water. This iconic image was taken across from Veere - the town with its famous towers visible on the horizon, but only as small silhouettes in the distance. As a result, the emphasis is more than ever on the jetty itself and the soothing atmosphere of this waterfront spot.

The spring evening was serene - soft colours reflected in the smooth surface of the water, merging the blue of the sky and warm hues of the setting sun. The stone bank and green water provided subtle details in the foreground, while the long lines of the jetty automatically took the eye to the centre of the picture.

Photographers appreciate Lake Veere for this kind of composition: the combination of wide views, interesting lines and room for tranquillity in the image. Although the town of Veere plays only a supporting role in the background, its presence adds to the typical Zeeland character of this photo.

The photo invites you to pause and enjoy its simplicity and reflections. Those who want to experience true Zealand will find a place to unwind at Veerse Meer, both with and without a camera.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
