At the southern tip of Bonaire, where the wind always sings and salt hangs in the air, stands the old Willemstoren - proud and unflappable since 1837. Right next door is a small, weathered house, once the home of the lighthouse keepers who spent days here braving solitude. The walls are now peeling off, the roof partly collapsed, but if you look closely, the cottage still seems to whisper about nights full of stars and the gentle thumping of waves against the shore. Together, they form a silent reminder of a time when light, wind and sea were the only companions on the edge of Bonaire.
