At my studio, I like to create unique work on paper. I am guided by chance and a limited choice of colours. I trust my intuition and let go of the outcome.
With dark purple, pinkish darkness in the centre of the image and bright green flared edges, this work is quickly reminiscent of the Northern Lights. As if it were a photo taken with a long shutter speed and you are standing - with your head in your neck - looking upwards in Finland. The orange section on the left adds contrast.
Because I had the inks mixed on paper and blended into each other, you can see many different transition colours. Very occasionally, up close, you can also see minute 'dots' of accumulated dust and ink; the original remains handmade work.
This gives your wall the warm and original look you are looking for. An abstract image that excites with its colours and at the same time is soothing due to the large areas of colour.
This work is a cut-out of a handmade watercolour. From the same work, I have three more cut-outs available. Perfect for combining!
