For my paintings, I like to make sketches. Lately, I've been doing it more often digitally, because it allows for faster recovery of choices and it can be done easily on the move.
Although the final painting takes a completely different direction in terms of colour and feel, the serenity and mystical atmosphere from this digital drawing were the reason to start painting. But sometimes things just turn out very differently with paint.
I keep asking myself: what time is it in this work? Morning or just evening? Or is it a scorching hot afternoon? The colours make me hesitate and the "brushstrokes" are fleeting as if they have to move on to the next moment of the day.
