About ‘Path to the mill’ by Sander Poppe

The November air above Kinderdijk exudes a quiet magic that you won’t find in any other month. As the sun slowly sinks below the horizon, the clouds take on soft shades of pink, amber and pale lilac. The evening light seems to settle gently over the landscape, as if it knows the day is almost over. Before me stretches the footpath, a narrow line that naturally draws my gaze towards the Blokweer mill. It feels as though the path is taking me by the hand, inviting me to walk those final few metres towards that iconic silhouette so firmly anchored in the history of Alblasserwaard.

The silence is almost palpable. Whereas in summer crowds of tourists shuffled along the banks, a soothing tranquillity now reigns. Only the soft rustling of reeds and the distant call of a bird break the silence. The mill itself stands there peacefully, like a sentinel that has kept the water in check for centuries and is now enjoying a moment of autumnal serenity.

In this light, in this silence, the world seems to slow down for a moment. I stand still, take a deep breath and let the cool November air fill my lungs. And as the sun casts its last ray over the Kinderdijk windmills, it feels as though the landscape is whispering: this is my finest hour.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
