The eagle owls usually hunt at dusk, but if they have young, they will also hunt during the day. They often build up supplies near or in the nest.
After about 34 days the grey-white young hatch. Immediately after birth the chicks are able to defecate outside the nest bowl. The young leave the nest after 28 to 30 days. They can then walk, jump and climb with the help of wing beats. After about ten weeks they are yellowish brown and can fly. In autumn they leave the parental nest.
