About ‘Prellerhaus’ by Raymond Wijngaard

In 1926, the five-storey Prellerhaus, part of the iconic Bauhaus complex in Dessau, was completed to the design of Walter Gropius . Here, Bauhaus students and young masters - including Anni Albers, Gunta Stölzl and Herbert Bayer - lived and worked in approximately 24 m² studio apartments each .

Imagine a space where living and creating merge: built-in furniture, a bettnis with a Preller deck, large areas of glass for natural light, and shared facilities such as kitchens, showers, changing rooms and even a gymnasium and roof terrace (). Small balconies on the east side offered spontaneous meetings and views of each other's studios - the daily transparency realised social connectedness ().

Each floor was given its own colour - blue, red, yellow or white - devised by Hinnerk Scheper, creating a visual sense of identity . After a complete restoration between 1996 and 2006, the building is again open to visitors and suitable for overnight stays .

This story is at the heart of my poster: a design that embodies Bauhaus optimism - active, warm and personal.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
