A sad girl sits on lily pads, while a white wolf supports her by laying his head on her shoulder.
The wolf is white to show that it represents goodness. The stars in the background represent evening or night, which is parallel to how the girl is feeling. She is naked to show that she feels defenceless.
The colours are shades of pink and purple, but the wolf, which stands for strength, stands out with its contrasting colour.
The technique I used is 'paper cut' or collage. With the wolf, the mobility of its neck, which rests on the girl's shoulder, has been emphasised by making it consist of three different layers.
Nature shows that the girl is grounded despite her sadness. The lily pads carry her weight and the lily flowers stand proudly up.
For the necessary pop of colour, this is the work to have. If you are a lover of animals and nature, this is also a beautiful scene. Moreover, the paper cut technique is not commonplace and adds an extra dimension to this image.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
