One of the things that makes New York so special is the mixture of different building styles. Where you expect a city full of only modern skyscrapers, you are amazed by the many classical structures and details that can be found in the middle of the high-rise buildings. A good example is the area around the famous Grand Central Terminal: New York's main train station.
Around the station you will find beautiful streets that exude a classic style. This photo was taken across from the south entrance of Grand Central Terminal. This image is all about detail. The foreground creates depth. Your attention is immediately drawn to the distinctive red lantern.
This photograph is one of a series of two. In the other photo, a black and white effect has been added.
