About ‘Bouvigne Castle’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

Bouvigne Castle in the Dutch province of North Brabant is located just outside the district of Ginneken and close to the Mastbos (forest) south of Breda. Behind it lies the Markdal (Mark valley).

It is not known exactly how old the castle is or what it originally looked like. From 1494 onwards, the De Boeverie estate had a stone house with a moat near the large and small farmhouses already situated there. The small farm was located at the intersection of the Duivelsbruglaan and the Bouvignelaan but went up in flames during the siege of Breda by Spinola in 1624. The large farm belonged to the Princes of Orange since 1614 and to the State since 1881. In 1941, the farm was destroyed by a V1 rocket but was later rebuilt.

There are three different gardens, all with statues:

* A French garden, laid out on the initiative of Mr. Leopold de Bruyn (the then owner) around 1913.
* An English garden, laid out around 1920. In the middle is a chapel, built in 1932 by the Pius X Foundation.
* A German garden, laid out in the thirties, with the former burial chapel of mgr Frans Frencken, the spiritual leader of the catechists, who died in 1946.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
