About ‘Face in white’ by Jeroen Quirijns

Created in 1999, starting on a black background and leaving the lines open. The face is enclosed within an imaginary box and an imaginary space. This, too, is another experiment with lines; in early 2010, this led to the ‘ "one-line drawings" ’ series. These are drawings often made with charcoal, in which a figure emerges in a single movement and the hand never leaves the paper or canvas. It requires excellent hand-eye coordination and a practised hand; your mind clearly guides where the hand should go. It seems difficult, but this, too, is simply a matter of practice.
Picasso produced many drawings in this manner, and in 1949, using a torch and a long-exposure film shot, he created beautiful light drawings, known as frontispiece photographs. In 1927, he produced various Harlequins', jesters and other circus performers on paper, demonstrating a quick hand and a quick mind.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
