Flyby of the North American F-100F Super Sabre during the 2014 Wings over Houston Airshow.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre is a fighter aircraft designed by North American Aviation in the late 1940s.
It was the first successful attempt to build a fighter that could fly supersonically in horizontal flight. The sound barrier was broken with this aircraft in May 1953 and the Super Sabre set a world record on October 29, 1953 when it reached a speed of 1217 km per hour. In 1954, the aircraft became operational in the US Air Force. It was the successor of the F-86 Sabre.
