About ‘Foggy winter evening in Ransdorp (black and white)’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

Ransdorp is a picturesque village in the sparsely populated rural part of Amsterdam-Noord, in the Dutch province of North Holland. The village counts several national monuments and has a protected village sight. It is best known for its stubby church tower.

Ransdorp has a rich history, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. The village has preserved many historical buildings and structures. The village features traditional Dutch architecture, including wooden houses with thatched roofs. The church in Ransdorp, dating back to the 16th century, is particularly notable for its medieval design. It is a prominent landmark in the village and adds to its historical charm.

Together with Durgerdam and Holysloot, Ransdorp forms part of a quiet area. This is a location for cycling and walking recreation. The old village centres and the open quiet character of the rural area make it a cultural-historical crowd-puller.

Traditionally, Ransdorp has been an agricultural community, with dairy farming playing an important role in the economy. Until the 20th century, fresh milk went directly to Amsterdam on milk barges to be sold door-to-door.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
