Friendly Sparrows on a Branch (Square) Part Three is a watercolour painting in a contemporary square format, hand-painted by the artist Karen Kaspar.

A delicate watercolour painting depicts a male sparrow sitting on a branch, looking cheerfully to the left. The background is abstractly designed with bright splashes of colour in pink, orange and blue, creating a lively and dynamic atmosphere. The bright colours accentuate the male sparrow’s plumage and highlight the bird’s delicate features.

Perhaps the songbird is perched in a garden in a tree with bright blossoms in spring, or against a colourful sky in the morning or evening. Or is the colourful foliage of the trees already glowing in the background in autumn? Perhaps the bird lives in the city, whose vibrant colours shine in the background.

This painting is part of my small series of three watercolours, each depicting a sparrow on a branch against a colourful background.
Each of these paintings can be hung on its own. However, the three paintings also combine beautifully to form a triptych and can be hung together on a wall to create a gathering of sparrows.

I originally painted the three works in portrait format. Here, I have also created a cropped version in a modern square format with a stronger focus on the birds. Both versions are available in my shop.
This means you can choose what best suits the rooms and walls in your home or office.

The inspiration for this series of watercolour paintings of house sparrows comes from my garden. The sparrows like to sit in our hedge and have a natter.
