The picture shows Goethe's garden house in the park on the Ilm in Weimar - a small, historic building with a white wooden façade and steeply pitched roof. It is embedded in a green setting of trees, shrubs and manicured lawns. A narrow path leads to the house on the right-hand side of the picture, while the sky with its changing clouds creates a calm lighting atmosphere.
Goethe's garden house is a central monument to Weimar Classicism. It was Goethe's first residence in Weimar and served him for decades as a retreat, workplace and place to observe nature. This combination of personal history, nature and intellectual work was my inspiration for this painting.
I wanted to create an atmosphere that radiates simplicity, concentration and closeness to nature. The work invites you to immerse yourself in the stillness and clarity of the place - without distraction, without exaggeration.
In an interior, this picture brings a calm, cultivated note to the room. It is particularly suitable for spaces that promote reflection, serenity and historical depth - whether in private homes, libraries or work environments with cultural aspirations.
