About ‘Kampen - Netherlands’ by Dries van Assen

Mill d'Olde Zwarver was built in 1842 after its predecessor burned down.

As the mill's then owner, "van Heel's Gecondenseerde Melk Maatschappij", wanted to expand, the mill was initially to be demolished. This sparked resistance among the population. By then, the number of mills in the Netherlands had already decreased significantly and this mill was the last one in Kampen. As a result of the reactions, the factory offered to transfer the mill to the municipality of Kampen. A new site for the mill was found at the Herkenhoofd, which was relatively close to the original site, and so the idea arose to move the mill in its entirety. This had not been done before. On 7 April 1952, amid great interest (from both home and abroad), the mill was moved to its current location on a 48-wheel flatbed truck. It is to this spectacular move that the mill owes its name.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
