About ‘Kinderdijk Illuminated’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

The windmills of Kinderdijk are nineteen mills in the northwest of the Alblasserwaard, a region in the province of Zuid-Holland. Although they are referred to as belonging to the village of Kinderdijk (municipality of Molenlanden) one mill is located just outside (De Blokker), in the municipality of Alblasserdam.

These are bosom mills, which form two mills corridors and are a major (also international) tourist attraction. They have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997 and the area is also a protected village sight. The rows of mills can only be visited on foot or by bike. Two mills are open to the public.

The mills at Kinderdijk were built from the end of the fifteenth century, but the present mills almost all date from 1738 and 1740.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
