About ‘Kinderdijk’ by Ray63

Kinderdijk, located in the province of South Holland, is an iconic Dutch UNESCO World Heritage Site that impressively illustrates the Netherlands' age-old struggle against water. This unique complex consists of 19 authentic mills, dating back to the 18th century, working harmoniously with dykes, pumping stations and sluices to keep the low-lying polder land dry. The mills, which had different functions such as pumping water and grinding grain, are perfectly preserved and offer a fascinating glimpse of Dutch hydraulic engineering and ingenuity. Visitors can walk, cycle or take a boat trip along the picturesque waterways, and some mills are open to the public to admire inside, making Kinderdijk an unforgettable experience that is both educational and visually spectacular.

Born in 1963. When I was young I really liked drawing with pencil. Left it alone for a long time, but since 2015 I picked up drawing again. Working with dry drawing techniques I like very much. Especially working with charcoal has my big preference. Easy to steer, immediate results and you can work a bit more coarse, which contributes to the lively organic expression.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
