About ‘Kwamalasamutu’ by Ronald (Ronnie) de Klein

Kwamakasamutu is located in southern Suriname near the border with Brazil.
This photo was taken from a korjaal on the Sipaliwini River during a trip with the Amazon Conservation team Suriname.
The name of the village means Bamboo Sand , named after the many bamboo forests along the river banks.
Kwamalasamutu is a Tiriyó village , named after indigenous Trio tribe and the Granman (Chief)) is based there .
It is a beautiful area in the middle of the jungle and about an hour and a half flight from Paramaribo.
Amazon Conservation Suriname collaborates with Green Child Suriname.

Green Child works closely with the local communities living in and off the Amazon rainforest and deals with the production, logistics, sales and marketing of their natural products. They do this in partnership with the Amazon Conservation Team Suriname (ACT-SUR). ACT is an international NGO that aims to empower Indigenous and Tribal
tribal peoples to take sustainable care of themselves and the Amazon rainforest in and on which they live.
ACT's work therefore primarily takes care of people and thus of rainforest conservation, biodiversity and traditional cultures.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
