Norway has an unusually long coastline. Including fjords, small offshore islands and other inlets the coastline is at least 25 000 km long.[5] Without fjords the coastline is much shorter, but when the shape of individual boulders would be included the coastline is even longer. With the more level of detail measured the longer the coastline turns out to be. This is called the shoreline paradox.
