About ‘Love me’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

The Flower Market, flower and plant market in full, is a permanent market in the city centre of Amsterdam.

The market was located on the Sint-Luciënwal until 1862, but when the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal was filled in in 1883, the flower market had to move to its current location on the Singel between the Koningsplein and the Muntplein. In those days the market was still called tree and plant market, hardly any cut flowers were sold until the 60s of the 20th century.

The market stalls are located on boats lying in the canal. This is a relic from the time when all the flowers and plants on this market were still supplied daily by water from outside the city. In recent decades, the flower market has become more and more a tourist attraction, which is why the assortment has been adapted to it. Many bulbs and souvenirs are sold nowadays.

In fact, the souvenirs are in danger of getting the upper hand, because they are bought much more by tourists than flowers and plants. The municipality is trying to set a limit on the amount of souvenirs that can be sold. This resulted in conflicts with the market vendors, who were afraid they would not be able to keep their heads above water. It has been agreed with the municipality that only flowers and plants and related products will be sold.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
