About ‘Marsh-Marigold’ by Maayke Klaver

For the past few years, I stopped bringing my camera during my early morning walks. I wasn’t sure why. Somewhere along the way, I simply stopped seeing things that moved me enough to reach for it.

But this morning, as I walked on, the light felt different. It shimmered softly, touched things with a kind of quiet magic. I kept walking… and then turned back. I had to go home and get my camera.

By the time I returned, the light had grown sharper. But still, by the water’s edge, these marsh-marigolds (Caltha palustris) glowed in reflected light. One stem still held a bright yellow flower, the other already a forming seedhead.

With my photography I try to convey the beauty of everyday, small nature. My macro images are therefore made in ordinary places, such as a backyard, a roadside or a park.

I don't represent the world exactly as we perceive it with our human eyes. With light and colours I try to 'paint' the atmosphere and capture the feeling of the moment. The subjects get their own world in my photographs and I hope to take people on a little journey into these macro…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
