This work of art shows a quiet street scene from the old town centre of Bamberg. At the centre is a cobbled alley lined with historic buildings with characteristic facades. A green-painted half-timbered house with numerous windows is particularly striking. Along the street there are signs for local businesses such as "Café Müller" and "Brauerei Spezial". There are tables and chairs in front of some of the pubs, but the scene remains deserted - a moment of calm in an otherwise bustling cityscape.
The inspiration for this work came from the desire to capture the atmosphere of an early or late day, when the city is still quiet or quiet again. I was attracted by the combination of architectural diversity and the almost meditative emptiness of the public space.
The atmosphere is calm, almost introspective. The picture invites you to focus on the details - the structure of the paving, the patina of the façades, the quiet references to urban life. It conveys a sense of permanence and invites you to take a mental journey through the history of the city.
