About ‘Party Wave, San Sebastián’ by Urban Archive

I took this photo on the beach at San Sebastián in March 2025. The wave runs like a clean, horizontal line across the frame, with several surfers riding it at the same time.

The image is composed of distinct planes: sand in the foreground, water in the middle and sky at the top. Within this composition, the wave forms the most important line. The surfers are positioned at the same height in the frame, which makes the moment clear and almost graphic.

On the beach, a few people stand still at the water’s edge. They are looking out to sea, but remain small in relation to the space. This keeps the focus on the wave and the line it draws across the image. The light is diffused by the clouds, keeping contrasts low and colours subdued. This reinforces the sense of simplicity and structure.

For me, this image is all about repetition and timing. Several people are riding the same wave at the same moment, making it not an individual moment, but a shared line. It is a clear and calm image that fits well in an interior where you want to add order and balance.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
