About ‘Pompeii - 20Oct13 CX’ by CX see experience

The ruins of Pompeii have been a tourist destination since it was excavated in 1748 (after its initial rediscovery in 1599). Since 79 AD Pompeii has been buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of pumice and ash. The city - and the objects in it, together with the victims of the disaster - have been well-preserved for hundreds of years because of the lack of air and moisture.

Nowadays about 2.5 million tourists visit the site per year, this is 125 times the number of the original 20,000 inhabitants during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. All the footsteps and touching fingers must have its impact on the ruins as we know it today. This comes on top of the wind, rain and polluted air to which the town is exposed since it has been sleeping under ground.

It can make you sad if you imagine how Pompeii will look like after another 250 years. Anyway it is strange to see a very old town flooded with people making photo?s and calling others by cellphone.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
