The artwork "SONY Center Berlin - Roof" shows an unusual perspective on the iconic roof construction of the Sony Centre at Potsdamer Platz. The view is directed upwards, through a red, perforated sculpture with circular openings. These frame the architectural elements of the roof - radially tensioned steel cables and glass surfaces that together form a tent-like structure. Green treetops are also visible between the openings, creating a natural contrast to the technical construction.
The inspiration for this work came from the interplay between urban architecture, public art and nature. I was attracted by the idea of looking through a sculptural structure and reframing architecture in the process - almost as if through a graphic filter.
I wanted to create an atmosphere that is structured but open. The picture invites you to lift your gaze and look at familiar places from a new perspective.
The message lies in the combination of technology, art and nature - a visual game with layers and vistas.
In interior design, this work acts as a modern accent with depth. It is particularly suitable for creative, urban spaces and brings structure, colour and a touch of Berlin city culture to the ambience.
